P: Lightroom Paste Settings with Denoise creates color artifacts & pink overlays

Explorer ,
Jul 09, 2025 Jul 09, 2025

Hi,

Bug 1)  I've been running into this issue for a couple weeks now.  Whenever I copy edit settings, it'll paste fine onto one image, but if I try to paste onto another image, it does nothing.

Bug 2)  I also tried pasting onto multiple images at once and it turned a bunch of them weird colors until I let them update AI settings.  I think it might have something to do with the denoise features, TBH.

The attached green image is after pasting settings, but before updating AI.  Normal looking image is after updating AI.

-Matt

Edit:  I'd like to note that Bug 1 is intermittent.  I'd say it's like 1 in every 3 times I copy settings.  Sometimes it'll paste an infinite number of times, others I get one paste and I'm done.

A fix for this issue is pending in a future update.

It has been discovered that the root cause is batch pasting on the filmstrip while in loupe view. Batch pasting in Grid View should avoid this issue until a fix is released.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi @matthew_5332, thanks for reaching out.

Could you share your System Info? You can find it in Lightroom under Help > System Info. Just copy the info to a text file and attach it to your response, or share it with us through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another file-sharing platform.
Thanks a lot! 😊

Thanks for sharing the System info; it is rather detailed. Your machine has two GPUs: the power-saving AMD Radeon 780M Graphics and the high-performance Nvidia RTX 4060. The installed and active drivers are slightly older.

Please try these two suggestions:
1 - Update the graphics drivers using AMD & Nvidia's auto-detect program. (AMD: https://adobe.ly/3Tzf3C6) (Nvidia: https://adobe.ly/44JxZDd

2 - Follow step 6 in the content here to configure the default GPU for Lightroom: https://adobe.ly/49YQSCI

After you update the GPU drivers, try the steps below and check how it goes. The GPU info & Logs location on Windows is %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw. A shortcut to get to this folder on Windows is:

  • Press the Windows + R
  • Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw

    SameerK_0-1684329421513.png

  • Rename the GPU & Logs folder in this directory by adding .old at the end. (GPU.old & Logs.old)
  • Relaunch Lightroom.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

I have updated my drivers and haven't experienced the issue since.  However, I haven't been editing photos as much since making this post.  Life and all.  If it comes back up when I get back to it, I'll let you know.

Hi Claire,

It's happening again and I checked that I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers (580.97 Studio Drivers).

When I go to edit settings on one of the affected photos, it asks me to update AI Settings.  So far the only AI was the denoise checkbox that was part of the pasted settings.

Seems to be when you try to paste the Denoise settings.  Copy only the denoise settings and paste it onto multiple images that don't already have "Denoise" enabled.  You'll be able to reproduce the bug.

Hi @matthew_5332,

Thanks for following up. The pink/magenta look you’re seeing after copy-pasting is not file corruption. It happens because AI Denoise needs to generate unique results for each photo. When you paste settings, Lightroom copies the instruction but still requires each image to reprocess AI, which is why you need to update AI on them individually.

If you’d like to avoid this, we recommend leaving Denoise unchecked when copying settings from "the Photo menu > Choose Edit Settings to copy." Instead, apply AI Denoise directly to the images you want enhanced. This ensures each file processes correctly without showing pink placeholders.

Best,

Anshul Saini

That's a workaround, not a fix.

Recommendations:

1.  Remove denoise settings from the default copy settings

2.  When pasting denoise settings, ask the user if they'd like to update AI settings for all of the files they are pasting to.

Hey Anshul,

I saw some other threads have been merged.  I just want to double check that this issue isn't considered resolved.

Forcing users to use non-default copy settings, otherwise they have to go one by one through every pasted photo to update AI.  That's not realllllllllllly a suitable solution.

Hi @matthew_5332, thanks for reaching out! While we have a workaround as you stated, this is still an issue we are investigating and working towards a fix for a future release. We'll let you know when a fix has been made and is released in Lightroom. Thanks for your patience! ^CH

Some photos become pink after using AI denoise on multiple photos in the latest version of Lightroom CC. Need to go and update AI in all of these to get rid of it. Screenshot 2025-06-19 at 21.07.16.png

Hi @vlachjn, Welcome to the Lightroom Community forum! To better help you with this issue, we would like a few more details. Can you send your system info, a screen recording of your issue, and a numbered list of the exact steps needed to replicate the issue? You can find your system info by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Thanks! ^CH

I'm having the same issue. This is problematic when you batch enhance a lot of photos at once. I don't have time to sit and do each one individually.

Hi @wolfesam! Welcome to the community — and sorry to hear you're running into this issue.

Could you share a few more details to help us troubleshoot? For example, which version of Lightroom are you using? Is this happening with every photo, or just a few? If it’s only affecting certain ones, do they have anything in common — like being shot with the same camera or saved in a different file format?

Thanks so much!
Alek

@Aleke

Hi. The process is I imported the images (all shot on Canon R5 bodies shooting CR3 files), as I always have. I select the first image, apply the AI Denoise option and let it run. I then copy just that setting and paste it to the rest of the images. After it is done running, several of the images show up bright pink and the process has to be run again on each one individually.

When dealing with 10's or 100's of images, this just isn't practical. I ended up having to install a previous version of Lightroom where it was applied via 'Enhance' just so it would run correctly.

I recently updated my LR and was using the denoise feature on some similar photos. I denoised one and then tried using the copy past feature to have the DN added to the others. I checked the box and when I clicked paste it looked like it was working but the the result was a group of pictures that did not convert properly and had a pink tone to them. I clicked on the indivisual photos and LR asked me to update i did and that seemed to work, but a pain to have to do the extra step on each photo. See screenshot attached. Anyone else having this issue.

Hi @OwleyMedic, thanks so much for reaching out!

I’ve gone ahead and merged your thread with an earlier one where other users reported the same issue. To help us dig a bit deeper, could you share a few more details? Specifically, what type of RAW files were affected, and which camera were you using? Also, does this happen only when batch denoising, or do you see it when processing files individually too?

If you’re able to share a sample RAW file, that would be super helpful for testing on our end.

Appreciate your help!

Alek

Hi @OwleyMedic! Thanks again for following up.

If possible, could you share a screen recording that shows your full workflow when applying Denoise and encountering the error? That would really help us try to reproduce the issue on our end and investigate further.

Thanks so much!
