P: Add Quick Actions to iPad

Community Beginner ,
Jun 23, 2025 Jun 23, 2025

Hey. I see and use Quick Actions on my Android but do not see it in LR on my iPad Pro. I gather it is not available yet.

Does anyone have any inside gos as to when that could happen. It's make or break for me.

Thanks

Andy

Adobe doesn't normally give timelines for feature development but I believe they are also available on Lightroom Web, if you log in via a browser on the iPad. That may work.

Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Lightroom Mobile products are released.  The December update has an update regarding this feature request.

Updates will be available via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and the Galaxy App Store. Note: it can take several days for some customers to receive a notification of an available update via their App Store.

Thank you for being so patient.

Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. It's weird that they haven't released Quick Actions on the iPad yet, being that it's basically the same app/UI as the iPhone. I can't imagine it's that involved.

Yes. Bizarre that I can do it on an Android phone but not on my editing
ipad pro.
Hopefully soon. Hopefully someone can also enlighten us.

Hi, I've just forked out for an iPad Pro to help me with my photo editing, and had previously been using my iPhone. I've been unable to find the magic wand looking tool that can detect scene and facial features etc. I'm assuming this just hasn't been added as I'm logged in properly to my premium account.

Is this a feature that is likely to be added? I'm pretty disappointed to have invested in a high spec iPad specifically for editing, just to find out one of the most useful features is missing and locked behind iPhone/desktop. Kinda defeats the point of me upgrading. I thought the iPad version would be a pro tool.

Adobe are trash - many threads on this (including one I created asking the same question) and the replies from Adobe are their usual BS spin which doesn't commit to anything. The LR app for iPad has been neglected for so long, it's laughable to see all these valuable features being included on iPhone/android apps, yet the iPad app is continuously overlooked...

I just want the iPad app to be the exact same as the mobile app.  It's missing an editing icon. The part where you can edit their skin and smooth their skin. Or edit their clothes. Just their clothes. It's in the mobile, but not the iPad. It changes how I edit photos. And now I have to go back and forth. The "retouch" option is missing. 😭

Agree. A lot of editors use an ipad pro - or want to- because of the
quality of photos the os etc but this situation is hopeless

Hi @tia_tnt! Thank you for reaching out! The "Retouch" tool isn't in the bottom bar like on the phone. Instead, look for a band-aid icon in the vertical toolbar on the right side of the screen on your ipad. This Healing tool contains all the retouching functions you're looking for, including spot removal, cloning, and skin smoothing.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Noel,

The person commenting obviously is referring to Quick Actions - they clearly and specifically mention clothes (which is a quick action feature) and having to switch between iPhone and iPad just to use some functionality - let's not pretend we don't know what they are talking about. Quick Actions are very obviously absent on the iPad (as is a whole bunch of stuff) and it's just not good enough....

Funny how these mods don't reply to other comments that specifically mention the lack of Quick Actions on the iPad app.

Hey All! The team is aware of this request for feature parity, and when the feature arrives, we'll update this thread.

Thanks for your patience.

It's ridiculous. I cannot understand for the life of me, how a company this big can be so obtuse.

This is how Adobe roll, empty promises and then enduring silence.

it's clear the iPad means little to them and rather than be honest, they prefer to treat their customers with contempt.

I wouldn't expect any major changes in the foreseeable future.

I can understand some delay with updating Lightroom on different platforms at different times, but this update has been available on mobile for so long already, and I can't understand why it's taking so long to implement this just on iPad. Can anyone from the actual employer answer and explain this to us?

Hello Adobe Team,

I would like to submit a constructive yet clear improvement request that many users are likely to agree with.

Despite having a full subscription, there are still significant differences between the Lightroom versions for iPad and iPhone. Especially features like Retouch, Subject Selection, Enhance, and other AI-powered tools are still missing on the iPad – even though the iPad Pro has more than enough performance to handle them.

For paying customers, it feels contradictory that the available features vary so much depending on the device. One platform should not be at a disadvantage simply because it runs on a larger screen.

Another issue that slows down the workflow is the management of presets:

  • Presets cannot be moved.
  • Sorting is not possible.
  • Favoriting or custom organizing is also not supported.

For users who work extensively with presets or maintain their own collections, this makes the editing process more complicated and less efficient than it should be.

My improvement proposal:

  1. Ensure feature parity between iPad and iPhone – all AI tools should be available on both.
  2. Enable full preset organization, including sorting, renaming, moving, grouping, and marking favorites.
  3. Provide transparent communication regarding when features will roll out across devices.

Many of us use Lightroom daily — often professionally and across multiple devices. A consistent, fully featured Lightroom experience would greatly improve productivity and be a strong signal to all loyal subscribers.

Thank you for reviewing and forwarding this to the responsible teams.

Tommy

I have used Lightroom Premium on my phone and have used the retouch/healing feature before.

Now that I am using an iPad, I cannot find it. I see all the other icons, but no bandaid icon that references the retouch feature. Is there another way to access this feature?

No one is trolling you. Version 11.1 for Lightroom for iPad was released 5 days ago. If you don't see the update in the App Store, I don't know what to tell you.
