I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone and installed the latest Lightroom Mobile (LRM). All the DNG RAW photos I take with the LRM camera are unusable because they come out with bands of rainbow colour all over them. The angle of the bands varies between photos. JPG files from the LRM camera are OK. JPG or DNG photos taken with the default Samsung camera are OK. Is this a bug that will be fixed in Lightroom Mobile?
Interestingly, the Lightroom Mobile DNG files look fine when viewed in the Microsoft Windows Photos app on my PC - but not in any Lightroom app (including Lightroom Classic, Lightroom Web)!
I cannot attach an example because this site says the content type does not match its DNG extension but here is a JPG exported from the DNG in Lightroom Classic which shows the problem.
My old Samsung Galaxy Note 9 did not have this problem.
The title of this post indicates there is a problem with the file supplied by Samsung. A fix would need to come from the device manufacturer in order for this issue to be corrected.
The device manufacturer has been made aware of the issue.

I have a problem that is discussed here in the Adobe Community
When S22 and S22+ Users (snapdragon) take pictures with the Samsung camera and then import these pictures into Lightroom Cloud (latest version) they are appearing in Lightroom Cloud this way:
That is great and OK.
If I take pictures with the Lightroom camera they appear like this in Lightroom:
Adobe says it is a problem with the Samsung phone.
How can that be? The Samsung Pictures are correctly displayed, and the Lightroom Camera Photos are incorrect???
This means Lightroom is not able to generate a proper picture from the Samsung camera, is that correct?
Can somebody explain that to me?

Das ist ein Problem das schon lange existiert mit Lightroom und den Samsung S22 Modellen. Adobe hat anscheinend kein Interesse für uns das Problem zu lösen.

Is there any way I can take photos in lightroom without that weird bug? By bug I mean, when I take photo it looks normal, but when I'm about to check it out in lightroom gallery, it has a strange rainbow "filter" on it...it's so frustrating. Thank you

Can you post a screenshot of the problem?
And also please confirm which version number of LrMobile you are running? And is it the free version or the premium subscription version?

I have the paid version (Adobe CC 8.1.2) and I have the same issue on my S22 since the beginning I bought the pohone. The LR (as a camera) is unusable. I must take photo with system camera (into DNG) and after that I can edit this DNG file in LR. But I am not able to take a DNG picture by LR itself.

Finally, 18 months after my original post, I just tried the Lightroom camera on my Samsung S22 Ultra again. In the meantime I have been using the Samsung default camera or their Expert Raw camera. Now, the banding problem in DNG files seems finally to have gone. I didn't hear any news about something having been done to fix it, either by Samsung or Adobe. Was anything announced ? Do other users confirm this ?
Now, if only the Lightroom camera would allow us to select any one of the 4 lenses on this phone ... see another post about that.

It is still a problem with my S22+. If I take a picture with the LIGHTROOM Camera it still produces these bands. My Lightroom version on my Android S22+ is 8.50/8.51 from the 28.8.2023

The same problem resists at my S22 (current state of Android, patches, LR app)

I've seen this on a third party camera app once, it has to be fixed by the camera app developer (in this case Adobe) as it's not accessing the api correctly.

OneUI 6, Android 14 update
Lightroom v9.0.0
That rainbow color patterns seems to be gone in PRO and HDR modes. But HDR shots are terribly noisy in dark areas, and I cannot figure it out if it's LR fault or S22 Ultra limitations (it does not handle HDR editing mode).
