Photos imported on PC not showing up on mobile app

I imported some photos to Lightroom CC on my computer this morning before leaving for work so I could edit on my iPad during my lunch break today. When I tried to open them in the Lightroom CC app on my ipad, they weren't there. I figured no biggie as I had my dslr with me and I transferred the photos to my iPad and then attempted to import them to Lightroom using the tablet. I then got the error message "skipped 23 duplicates. Which tells me that the photos are in Lightroom, I just can't see them. Same issue on my Android phone. Help please.
