I think it is since after my Mac update to BigSur that LR shows a white box over the photo previews. The files are okay, so it is a viewing problem in LR. Anyone any ideas?

It's a bug that has been reported to Adobe. The workaround for now is to turn off the Info Overlay (press the "I" key once or twice to toggle the display off).
