Raw photo, but need to save the JPEG Preview? Please Help!

Hello,

I have been trying to figure this out for a while now to no avail. I am hoping to find an answer here.

Anyway, when shooting in Lightroom Camera on iPhone I typically shoot raw, which is great. However, I have not been able to find out how to keep the JPEG file that is displayed in the camera roll in addition to the raw file. Is there anyway to keep the raw AND the JPEG of an image on the iphone?

Also, are the JPEG previews of the raws a full resolution photo the same as if just shooting JPEG straight?

Hello

When you capture images in the DNG format, the raw image format used by the in-app camera in Lightroom for iOS, only a DNG file is saved.  There is not a JPG also created.  If you want to export DNG captures as JPG images, select the image tap the Share icon, and Save to Camera Roll, and choose Maximum Available to save the image at the original image resolution.  The other option is to save a Small version that is 2048 pixels on the long edge.  The JPG you save will include any edits you've made.

If you want to save both JPG and DNG, follow the steps above for JPGs, and for the DNG choose Export Original from the image Share menu.

If you prefer, you can toggle the in-app camera to shoot as JPG instead of DNG.  However, just like with the native camera, LR JPG captures do not contain all the image data the of the DNG raw file type.
