Recognizing replacement drive after my hard drive of images failed

I'm on current rev of Creative Cloud Lightroom. After a house fire I copied an external drive of images that had already been loaded into lightroom. Now when I click on an image with the replacement drive connected LR doesn't find the image to do further editing. Can someone tell me how to make LR recognize the new drive with the original images? My Lightroom is fine, it's just not connecting to the ported images on the replacement external drive.

I assume you mean you are using Lightroom Classic, yes? In which case, see this blog post: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-photos-missing-fix/
