Question

Resize DNG photos on iPad

Hi! Are there any apps for the iPad that lets me
batch resize DNG photos? I know you can export
DNG images as Jpegs and then choose size in LR for iPad, but I'm looking to export as DNG images, with a custom image size, but in LR for iPad it won't let me change image size when I choose DNG (this is possible in LR classic on desktop). Its the one thing blocking my workflow and preventing me from bringing only iPad when I'm out on the road.

DNG files, like all raw files are read-only. One unique feature about the DNG is that it has been designed to store adjustments within the framework of the file itself rather than in an external XMP file. However, the physical size of the image cannot be modified; that part of the file remains read-only. Lightroom and Camera Raw has a feature called super enhance that enables the user to "enlarge" the image. But to do so requires the creation of a new and separate file. I'm not aware of any photo processing app that has the capability to modify the size of a raw image.

DNG can contain (linear) RGB data too. That is what Adobe uses when they allow saving smaller DNG versions. Remember that smart previews are also DNG...

Nope, that is not possible. An exported DNG in Lightroom mobile is always a raw DNG, meaning it contains the original raw data. File a feature request.

Yes, I sort of knew that, but thank you. I guess I am sort of asking if anyone know of other photo processing apps that have this feature, or workarounds that would allow me to save DNG files in a custom resolution on iPad.
