Restore sidecar backups

Hi,

I use Lightroom CC (new version, not classic). I have the Lightroom plan with 1TB.

I have downloaded my photos using the Lightroom Downloader, and I can see the images and sidecar files (xmp).

To test the backup and restore process I have deleted one of the edited images within LR (and went into the deleted items and did a permanant delete from there). Then added it back in from the backup taken by LR downloader. Only the image is uploaded into LR, the edits do not get uploaded.

How can I get backed up edits back into LR?

Thanks

Lightroom should read the XMP files, providing that they are in the same folder as the original image when you add the image to Lightroom and carry the exact same file name (except for the file extension, of course).
