Save edits as Creative Profile

New Here ,
Sep 13, 2018 Sep 13, 2018

Hi,

Does anyone know how to save your own custom profiles without having to do the edits in Camera Raw?

I've managed to do this before so I know it's possible in either Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic CC. Unfortunately I've forgot how to and can't seem to find how to again.

Really appreciate it!

Br,

Anders

Yes, that is possible. The easiest way in both applications is to use Export (called 'Save to' in Lightroom CC). Choose 'As Original'. That will save a copy of the (raw) file with the edits in an XMP sidecar file (or in the metadata in case of DNG). Open this raw file in Photoshop and Camera Raw will read the XMP to load the edits.

I don't think you've managed to do it before, because it is not possible to create profiles in Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC. You have to do that in Camera Raw. You can create presets however, so I assume that is what you remember.

Thanks for a quick reply.

Ok, I may have lost my mind here:)! But I have about 10 of my own which i use all the time. They were created in LR CC or LR Classic CC (don't remember) by holding a key while clicking "save preset" and instead accessing "save as profile". I never did it in ACR.

Loosing my mind over this!!:)

That key would have to be the ALT (Option on Mac) key, but that doesn't work in Lightroom CC or in Lightroom Classic. Only in Camera Raw.

Thank you!

Sounds as if I've been a bit confused then! Do you know if it's possible to copy your LR edits into Camera Raw?
