search by Lightroom copy list

New Here ,

Hi all! I'm trying to search and flag specific photos from a "Copy list" but Lightroom CC is only allowing me to do 4 max at a time. Any more than 4 and it says "Oh no! A black hole."

Is anyone else experiencing this or have any tips on how to flag more than 4 pics at a time?

Thanks in advance!

The EXACT same thing is happening to me. It's so frustrating and makes my workflow take SO much longer. So far I haven't figured out the solution, but at least you're not alone!

Can I just be clear on what you are doing when this error occurs? I assume you have run a search which then populates the grid with the results of that search. Then you are trying to flag specific images from that grid, and after you've flagged 4 the "Black Hole" message appears when you try to flag one more. Have I understood that correctly? If so, I can't reproduce that problem on my MacOS system. If your steps to produce are different to what I have assumed, please detail the exact steps that you are using. And are you using the Cloud or Local mode?

What version numbers of both Lightroom (note: there's no "CC" at the end, that was dropped several years ago), and MacOS are you using?

No.  Often when submitting to sites like Pixieset for clients to choose their favorite photos, you can download their favorites as a "Copy List".  It's simply a list of the file names separated by a comma and a space.

You can easily return results of all the photos in that list and then add them to a collection to work on.  In Desktop, it would appear that if you past that Copy List into the search bar, it makes an attmept to find them all, but fails.  If you limit the list to less items (originally 4 or less for OP, but I find it is now limited to just 2), it will return the images you're looking for.  We would love it if Adobe would support this in Desktop.

This link is a guide on how to do that search in LR Classic:

Same Issue in 8.0, but now it seems limited to 2 images
