Every tasks run slowly on Lightroom, even switching between images took a long time to load in the edits (1-2s) and the cpu spike up to 100% usage and 14gb of ram. Especially when opening the masking menu, Lightroom would took 3-4s to fully load in everything. At the time, I was loading in an album with 11 photos, fully edited with remove, AI masking, blur, color...
I expected Lightroom to load everything instantly as my system is quite powerful and other Adobe apps run excellently with it.

Hi @LanLP!
Where do you store your images—are they in the cloud or saved locally?
Could you try going to Edit > Preferences > Cache and clicking on Clear Cache? Also, we might want to enable "Store a copy of all smart previews locally in C:".
By the way, if you go to Edit > Preferences > Performance and set "Use Graphics Processor" to Off, does that change the performance at all?
Thanks a bunch!

@Aleke interestingly, I also get terrible lightroom cc performance using a laptop (zephyrus g14) with an AMD 7940HS processor & RTX 4070. Has any internal testing been done on a similar machine?

Hey @Generous_view0D45 — sorry to hear you're running into performance issues too! That can definitely be frustrating.
Could you share a bit more about what you're experiencing? Is the slowdown happening with a specific tool or more generally across Lightroom?
Also, when you get a chance, please check if there are any updates available for your graphics card drivers. We recommend using Studio Drivers instead of Game Ready ones, as they tend to work more smoothly with our software. And just to be sure — is your Lightroom updated to the latest version?
Thanks so much!

The entire program runs ridiculously poorly for a computer with these specs. The issue has been persistent across multiple GPU driver and software updates.

Hey, @Generous_view0D45. Thanks for the details. Testing is extensive, and realistically, variables for each machine environment can impact the performance.
Your machine has two GPUs: the power-saving AMD Graphics AMD Radeonâ„¢ 780M and the high-performance Nvidia RTX 4070. The OS decides what GPU to use depending on how the laptop is plugged in or its battery life.
Try the step shared here to configure the default GPU for Lightroom: https://adobe.ly/49YQSCI
Also, could you tell me what other troubleshooting steps you've tried?
Thanks!

I ask if any internal testing is done on a similarly-spec'd machine, not only because of the performance issues I face on my end, but because of the highly abnormal number of bug reports I see on here with Adobe staff inexplicably being unable to replicate the issue, when I'm able to do so (without the backing of a multi-billion dollar corporation) in a matter of minutes. It just doesn't make sense.

I understand how multiple GPUs function. Lightroom performance is marginally better on the Nvidia GPU, but not smooth, and I still frequently face slowdowns, momentary freezes, and other perfomance issues when trying to perform varioius tasks. I'm also almost certain that these performance issues are maybe not the primary cause, but at least a secondary cause in multiple bugs I've seen reported here, as I think they're partly due to timing issues that are less likely to occur on machines where the program is not slowing down.
