Store locally on hard drive

Hi!

I'm using Lightroom CC, and I have a problem when I'm using it. When I'm editing my photos in Lightroom CC on Mac, I need to have my hard drive connected because I have chosen to have all my original images stored only on my hard drive to save storage on my Mac, but the problem is: I don't want to connect my hard drive to my Mac, because the battery is so bad now, that I got recommended to avoid connecting it to my Mac, but every time I'm opening Lightroom CC, Lightroom says "connect your hard drive", and I can't edit my photos in Lightroom on iPad because the iPad can't handle RAW-images, the iPhone screen is too small, and  Safari does not have the curves in Lightroom.

Any advice, please?

Best Regards,

Gerard

Lightroom wants access to your photos, so if you choose to store the photos on an external hard drive, then it will ask for that external hard drive. That only makes sense.

If you really use Lightroom CC however (not Lightroom Classic CC), then there is another option. You don't have to store the originals locally at all. That is optional. If you do store them locally, then Lightroom wants to use them because that is faster. But if you don't store them locally at all, then Lightroom will get them from the cloud if needed. So go to the Preferences - Local Storage and uncheck the option to store a local copy of the images. Keep the local cache small as well.

What is the actual version of Lightroom installed on your computer? Are you REALLY using Lightroom CC, the cloud-based version?

Is there a reason that you are using a browser rather than the desktop version? The desktop version does have the tone curve.
