Question

Suddenly pictures get darker when editing

My light room is acting strange (I have installed windows 11 a few days ago, maybe related)

In the image previews, all images seem fine, but when I open them for editing, they turn awkwardly darker.

Attach are images to illustrate better the issue.

A week ago, the software worked just fine.

It did it again. Solution is to go back to Windows 10.

As I indicated previously, I had to experiment with different display settings in the Windows 11 display settings quite extensively before I was satisfied. And I had to set the brightness on my monitor exxtremely low to get things balanced properly. Other than that, I have no suggestions.

Thanks Jim,

Suddenly, it stopped, and now is working ok...

In your first preview each of the images show a "spinning arrow" indicating that the preview hasn't been completed. That could have some impact on the difference. I am using Windows 11 as well, and found it necessary to work with different display settings until I  found one that suited my workflow. Can't tell you what I settled on, but I'm happy now. Are you using Lightroom Classic or Lightroom Cloudy?

Thanks for your response!

Yesterday I Updated the software and left all night the app running so the “spinning arrows” may finish their task. This morning everything was done, but the issue persists. If I export a picture, it comes out OK. Seems like the issue is only occurring when the image is enlarged on the app for editing , but it’s frustrating because there is no way to work.

I have Lightroom 5.4 (I guess this is the Cloudy?). I will download and test Lightroom Classic to see if that changes something.

*Lightroom Classic does the same.
