Hi all.
I just purchased a Surface Book 2 (128gb, 8GB RAM, Intel® HD Graphics 620 integrated GPU (on Intel® i5-7300U model). I also have an Ipad (2017 version, not pro - has 2GB of RAM from what I can tell).
For some reason, the Surface Book 2 runs Lightroom CC significantly slower than the iPad 2017. I have tried everything (disabling the graphics cards, full update of windows, reducing the screen resolution, increasing the cache size, using lightroom while the internet is not connected), but performance is still extremely laggy. Gradients in particular are very slow, whereas on the iPad it is smooth and responsive in all areas.
Struggling to understand why this is the case, especially given the Surface Book 2 has 4 x the RAM and a better processor.
Help!

No suprise. iPads are notoriously fast.

I just discovered that Lightroom was using the Intel card that comes with the detachable screen instead of the NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1050. That is why the Surface Book works so slow in Lightroom.
How do I make Lightroom select the proper video card?

Did you ever figure it out? I have the i7 with a dedicated GPU and it's considerably slower than any other machine I have, which is very curious.
