Hi,
I've now chatted twice with adobe support, but I'm getting mixed answers, so I thought to try here.
My setup
Lightroom Classic CC with the 20GB photoplan. I have all my images on an external drive, but import to computer HDD and generate smart previews (SP). After a while, I move the files to ext.hdd and are left with SP's.
The questions
1. I have synced 3000 images to LR CC, but is says it's only using 56MB of the 20GB plan. In my head, this is impossible, however good the compression on the smart previews are. Does LR Classic SP sync count against the 20GBs?
2. If I upload a raw file from camera to LR CC on Computer or mobile, what happens next? Does it stay there, or unload the next time I open Classic CC? If so -to which album?
3. What quality is the online smart previews? They seem sufficient enough to create jpg's and share from LR CC iOS app, and also to create a portfolio album, but I don't understand how that can be if my 3000 photos in total is only 56mb in size.
1 Anything synced from Classic is synced as a smart preview and doesn't count against your 20gb
2 It will use some of your 20gb as it's in the cloud as an original, and it will then sync down to Classic and appear in whatever collection you put it in
3 Hard to say. They're 2560 pixels long side
