the folder [Username] cannot be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents

I keep getting an error message that says  "the folder [my username] cannot be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents" whenever i open lightroom, and i get the same message for every folder i try to open. this is on macOS Ventura. I have tried to allow full disk access in settings but it did not help.
