The keyboard shortcut P for flagging photos doesn't work on MacBook Pro.

The keyboard shortcut P for flagging photos opens and closes the left side panel instead of flagging/picking photos on my and my wife's Macbook Pro runing IOS12.2.1 and Lightroom Version 6.1.   Shortcut works on my ipad.

I found that the keyboard shortcut for Picking (flagging) a photo is Z (not P), contrary to all online references.

    [P] is the KB shortcut to Pick images in Lightroom-CLASSIC and old 'Perpetual' versions before Classic.

    Lightroom is a different App- different features.
