I have photos on an SSD from which I have imported and edited in Lightroom Classic with no problems. When I try to browse these same photos from the same SSD using Lightoom Desktop I receive the following message. " This Folder Does Not Contain Editable Files ".Can anyone please explain what is happening and how to rectify.

Thanks

You need to allow 'Full Disk Access' in MacOS. Acces for files and folders is no longer sufficient.

Wow. You posted in March and still have not had a response. I am having the same problem. I recently made the decision to start working w/ Lightroom desktop, instead of LR Classic, which I suspect is going away. My operating system is Sonoma 14.5, and my CC apps are all up to date as of 7.25.24. I have most of my files are on my hard drive, few in the cloud. I have allowed access to files/folders/volumes for LR, and have entered the folder which contain my original files. All files work on LRC and PS, so what is the deal? Attached is a screen shot of message. Help!

I allowed full disk and files and folders access.

What I meant to say was that I had already allowed full disk access and it still is giving me the same message, so I don't believe the reply above solved the problem. Anyone else?

If I look at your screenshot (please make a proper screenshot next time, not a photo of the screen), then I think the answer is simply that you need to open the subfolder that contains the images. Lightroom Classic has an 'include subfolders' checkbox, but I don't think Lightroom has the same option, so you need to browse the subfolders yourself.

Bummer... I have way over two hundred folders.

And thus ended the thread? There must be thousands of users out there who have spent years with LR Classic and now full of enthusiasm try to import their meticuously designed hierarchial photos with several levels of subfolders. My own collection exceeds 30 K with hundreds of folders. I refuse to believe there is not a sensible way to migrate these...?

And while I was whining about my problem, the entire su bfolder structure miraculously appeared in the left panel. It appeares that it just took LR some time to communicate with my Synology NAS.

Which probably explains the radio silence on this thread.

But it would have been a good idea to state this on this "loose thread". Might help a few frustrated users.

Now done.
