Hi there,

Sorry that you're getting an error message "Unable to create directory, don't have permission to save file xxx in folder" while trying to add images to Lightroom. Which version of Lightroom are you using and on which OS?

To what it seems like, you likely have a permission issue at the drive or folder level. You will need to use the Mac OS to change the permissions for your User Account for that (and perhaps other) locations. If changing doesn't work you may need to repair your permissions.

This may be of help for Repair instructions: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/repair-disk-permissions-running-disk.html

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash

Hi Akash,

Thanks for your response.

I am using Lightroom CC version 2.0.2 on macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6

How do I use the macOS to make the changes to permissions?

Thanks again!

Have you tried using the "Disk Utility" on your Mac to repair permissions?
