Observed on: Mac OS Monterey 12.7.2, Lightroom 7.1.2
Im having an issue where I cannot open lightroom due to two error popups.

The first is unable to move some photos, with an unknown fatal database error.

Then followed by a local catalog error.

I appreciate that this is an error that has been documented a number of times, but I seem to have tried all of the suggested solutions with no joy. So far I have tried:

  • Renaming/moving/deleting the local catalog file
  • Restarting the machine and app
  • Reinstalling the app
  • Using disk utility to look for errors on the disk
  • Clearing cache within the cloud storage interface

Any other suggestions before I reinstall the whole OS?

Interestingly I have just installed version 6.5 and version 7.0 and they both work. It seems to be an issue with the latest version of Lightroom.

This is a very unusual failure mode. We need to collect a diagnostic log from you.

For LrDesktop

Go to Preferences

Account Section

Hold down the [Opt/Alt] key to make the [Diagnostic Log] button appear.

When you are ready to share, post the log on a sharing service (Dropbox, etc) and message me the link to the log.

Thanks!

Thank you. Please leave the file available for our engineers to pull down. I will post back here once they've retrieved the file.
