Unreliable Lightroom camera preview on iPhone 13 Pro

This has been explained before as a platform limitation, but I don't have the existing thread handy to share.  

In short, what you see in the capture viewfinder is live video, and this is processed by iOS.  Raw DNG images captured by Lightroom's camera are just that -- raw data with very little processing, compared to the video feed or JPG images that are processed by iOS even when captured through Lightroom's camera.

There is a long-standing enhancement request filed asking our engineers to either give a better approximation of what to expect for output in the capture viewfinder, or otherwise apply some processing to decrease apparent exposure.  Either path present challenges for both our developers and our users.

When capturing DNGs on newer iPhones with these larger sensors, I have grown accustomed to using Exposure Compensation in brighter scenes.  Otherwise, I use HDR mode as this generates more balanced and predictable results.  If you do this, I recommend you also choose to Save Unprocessed Original in the LR Camera options.  Tap the 3-dots button at the top right, and then tap on the gear button to see in-camera settings.  Save Unprocessed Original will save your HDR image and also the middle image of the 3-bracket images used to compose the HDR image.
