Question

Updating AI settings freezes

Since the release of Lightroom version 8.0 and later version 8.4, I have been having problems updating the AI settings for my photos when I apply it to a large volume of photos.

It tends to freeze/stop when it reaches a certain number. I didn't have this problem in previous versions, although it's true that in those versions, once the process was complete, I got a warning that I had to update again. I understand that this error has been fixed in the new versions.

If you could guide me and help me solve the “compatibility” problem between the new version of Lightroom (8.4) and the AI settings, I would really appreciate it.

Hi @Guillermo_Rivera9612, welcome to the community!

Could you share your System Info? You can find it in Lightroom under Help > System Info. Just copy the info to a text file and attach it to your response, or share it with us through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another file-sharing platform.

Thanks!

Alek

Hi @Guillermo_Rivera9612 and @gurkirats22857051

Quick question, does the batch AI update always stop at a specific photo, or maybe after a certain number of photos?

@gurkirats22857051, if you could share your System Info just like Guillermo did, that would be super helpful. You can find it in Lightroom by going to Help > System Info. Just copy it into a text file and attach it here, or feel free to share it through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or any file-sharing service you prefer.

Thanks again!
Alek

With the arrival of version 8.4 in June and subsequent updates, at first it wasn't a specific photo

Later, if the computer went into sleep mode, it did. No matter what I did, it didn't work, it stayed on that photo, and when, miraculously, after trying everything, activating/deactivating settings, restarting the computer... I managed to get it to move forward and not stop on that photo, the times it took to update the photos were ridiculous, and as soon as you left the app in the background, they increased even more, without ever being able to complete all the photos.

I understand that you're asking me about the photo because it may be a corrupt file that isn't working properly. I tried deleting and reimporting all the photos I took when I first noticed the problem, and I also tried it on other older photos, but the problem persisted. There were even times when copying and pasting settings or the automatic settings option itself also got stuck.
