Question

Use Lightroom Classic CC after cancellation

Hello
We occasionally use Lighroom 6 to manage and infrequently edit our family photos.

As occasional users, the subscription is a bit too expensive for us and we fear too much dependency over the years. Now we are considering switching to another software which can be purchased via a license without a subscription. However,

I still have some questions about the subscription model:

  • The subscription can be cancelled monthly, correct?
  • After the cancellation, according to your information, the functions "Import", "Organize", "Export", "Publish", "Print", "Web" and "Slide Show" continue to work. Can RAW and JPEG with the import presets (incl. development settings, keywords, etc.) be used in the process? https://helpx.adobe.com/ch_de/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html
  • Can I test the new Lightroom Classic CC and revert back to Lightroom 6 if needed?

Kind regards Mikael

"The subscription can be cancelled monthly, correct?"

No.  When you subscribe to the Photography Plan you agree to a  full 12month term (PAID Monthly or Annually). When you 'Cancel' a subscription you must pay 50% of the remaining term. (eg. if you cancel after ONE month, then you must pay 50% of the remaining 11 months)

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

You can revert back to Lightroom 6, but you will have to do all of your editing over again because the catalog you have been using in LrC is not backward compatible. The images are not "in" the catalog. However, all of the work you have performed is in the catalog. So it would be necessary for you to create new catalog and begin editing the images again with all of the old tools that are available in the old version.
