I just got an SD card reader for my iPad Pro to be able to upload shots from my SD card directly into Lightroom CC on my Adobe CC Cloud storage.
I do NOT want to download them into my iPads internal storage first before getting them into Lightroom CC.
I have a sneaking suspicion that that might not be possible.
Will I have to load them to my iPad's hard drive before loading them into Adobe's Creative Cloud space? (Please say it aint so...)
And, if I have to do this, would I then need to delete them from the iPad once they are in the Cloud space, necessitating a tedious 2 step process?
Please chime in if you know the answer to this question.
I have already spent a good hour or two trying to get to the bottom of this.
There is little to no information about this out there.
Thanks.
Yes this is indeed not possible. Apple has made it so that the sd card reader can only be accessed from the photos app and third party apps cannot access it. Very annoying. I wrote about this problem in 2016 and it still hasn't been fixed (Jao's photo blog: A mobile workflow with Lightroom? Unfortunately Adobe can't fix this. It is Apple that would need to open it's iOS operating system just a tiny bit more.
