Volume shutter error when entering the app using the camera shortcut widget

Community Beginner ,
Oct 30, 2024 Oct 30, 2024

If I turn on the camera through the camera shortcut widget created by the user on the home screen or start screen rather than the app icon, I cannot take pictures by pressing the volume button.

However, if I access the camera using the icon or turn on the camera through a widget while the app has already been launched, I can use the volume button to take pictures.

So to check for errors, delete Lightroom from the list of recently used apps and then access the camera shortcut widget.

Thanks.

Hello @chaewonl51178460

There was a volume capture trigger bug that was fixed with app update v10.0.  If you haven't updated already, please find and open the LR iPhone app listing in the App Store app to get the update.

FWIW, I could not reproduce your issue with app version 10.0.1 that's now live using iPhone 13/iOS 17, or iPhone 16 w/iOS 18

Thanks!!

Hi chaewonl51178460,

Thanks for reporting this issue. I was able to reproduce your issue on iPhone SE2 with iOS 18.x. I will open a ticket for this for our engineers to look at.

For now, the workaround to get the volume button to work for taking photos when you launch camera from the widget on locked screen is to launch camera from in app or or from long press on app icon and take a photo using volume button. Once you do this, the volume button should start working for you from the locked screen widget too. Please let us know here if this fails to work for you.

Kind regards

Kavita S.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. It seems that the best method is to long-press the app to access the camera.
On another note, I'm a bit surprised by how kindly you guide even non-subscribed users. It's also quite surprising that the app offers free 16-bit raw shooting.
I feel a deep sense of trust in Adobe.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
