Where are edits stored locally?

I want to be able to back up my edits just in case anything happens - are they stored anywhere locally or just in the cloud?

I guess as a side question if I were to ever cancel my subscription, are my edits deleted for good? Or will they show back up if I resubscribe?

Edits stored locally are in a catalog file in the .lrlibrary file, which is in your Pictures folder.

If you choose to cancel your subscription you can download all your images and XMP edits from the cloud with the Lightroom downloader utility. You have one year after cancellation to download them if you're on a paid subscription, 3 months if on a trial.
