White Checkmark on some photos on Lightroom Mobile IOs

When using my Lightroom iOS app, I’m seeing on some pictures a white checkmark on the upper left portion of the picture.  I have never used the desktop version or logged on to desktop.

How do clear these check marks? What do they mean?

The black on white background check mark indicates a Pick Flag has been applied to a photo.

Do a 'Two Finger' tap on the iPhone screen to change and cycle through the various Info overlays. One option will include the Ratings and Flags.

Tap to view one image on screen where you can change Flags and Star Ratings.
