I am very used to using the volume-up button to take a picture in Apple's Photo app.  I would love very much to have the same ability in the Lightroom Mobile app.

Are you saying you want to disable the shutter sound when taking a picture with Lightroom mobile.

No, I want to be able to take a picture by pressing the volume up button, just like I can in the Apple photo app.

Same here. Make this button work and Lightroom will replace my default camera app, its the only step that stops me from doing so. Suprisingly, the volume works in other Adobe mobile apps, Adobe Capture for example.

Same here. I missed already a few cool shots by turning up the volume instead of taking a picture.

Yes, me too!!  This is essential for street photography.  And once the volume buttons (both please up/down) are working, then I can also use my bluetooth remote shutter gadget as well.

Pretty much every other IOS camera has the volume functions, btw.

Right danostmint.  Without the volume button functionality, hundreds of thousands or more of us who use a bluetooth remote can't use Lightroom camera now.  Since these remotes cost literally just a few bucks, they are very popular.

There is simply no way I can use Lightroom camera for candid street photography, and street photography is one of the most, if not the most, popular category of mobile photography outside of snapshots.

I don't know if Adobe has a habit of listening to customers' requests and implementing them quickly, but I hope so. This one seems like a no-brainer.

I really do want to use Lightroom camera, it's otherwise awesome.

I was just coming here to see if someone had made this thread already. I'm loving the combo of the iPhone 7 camera capturing DNGs in Lightroom Mobile. Great results. So much so that I plan to make it my default method of taking shots with my phone.

But we desperately need the volume up/down buttons to work for the shutter! You get far better results this way, more stability, and can be faster and more discrete than if you have to press on the screen. This is even more important in low light.

So I hope this will be added very soon. It seriously must only be a few lines of code. It's killing me. I'm surprised it isn't already working this way.

Please add it guys! It's a great app and workflow, just needs this one tweak.

"It's killing me. "    Exactly.  I can't really use the camera yet, even though I love everything else about the app.

And not sure how the dev team didn't realize that every other camera app out there has this feature.

Same here. I won't use the Lr camera because of this. I never use the onscreen button.

Please add one more voice to the hoards of those that want the volume buttons to be able to trigger the shutter release in Lightroom iOS. This should also reinstate the remote shutter device I have that doesn't work in Lightroom on the iPhone as it is trying to activate the shutter via the volume up button.

Please, please fix this soon, it's so vital.

I think I'm sensing a movement here. 🙂  I hope the Lightroom Mobile team does too.  I would wager there are thousands of people not using Lightroom Mobile's camera due to this oversight.

Another Lightroom Mobile update, and yet again no volume button shot capability.  This sure seems like one of the easier things to add to the app. And would be a real crowd pleaser.  I simply cannot use Lightroom Mobile without it, as I am sure every street photographer will tell you.  And since street photography is one of the biggest genres of photography on the iphone, you are disappointing a lot of potential users.

yes, Yes, YES!

Adobe listened and they delivered! I'm delighted that in the v2.6.0 released today (8 Dec 2016) the volume buttons on iOS now control the shutter button and my remote shutter also works.

Well done, I'm over the moon.

...now to explore the other features they have implemented.

AWESOME! Thanks, I was incorrect.  I was going off the announcement I read on Adboe blogs  where it didn't say anything about it:  http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/12/lightroom-mobile-december-releases.html
