Apply color mixer to a section

Hi,

is it possible to apply the Color mixer in Lightroom to a preselected section only, like it works with some other adjustments using e.g. the brush tool?

In my concrete case I want to modify a picture from a lake. I want to change the color of the sky, without affecting the blue parts of the lake. I tried first to create a mask for the sky, but since I don't have a sharp or straight border between the landscape in the background and the sky, my resulting masks did not satisfy me. So thought it would be the easiest to use the color mixer and apply it just to a rectangular mask, which covers the whole sky and some parts of the background that do not make use of the blue color.

Thanks,

Princeptus

Yes, there is only a nominal range of sliders which apply to all selective adjustments. But I find I can use saturation in conjunction with whites & blacks & even highlights/shadows or dehaze to tweak overall color.

But did you know you can activate the color swatch e.g. if you wanted to turn a blue sky into an orange sunset, simply set the color picker accordingly and then adjust the sliders to get the right effect.

Try using the Linear Gradient tool. You can darg the mask up and down ans vary the transition between sky & lake. See video at this link:

Thanks, for your Reply. It helped me with my problem.

But I do also understand from your reply, that the answer to my initial question is "no, it is not possible" - right? - Because also with Linear Gradient tool, the adjustment options offered are much more limited, than those applicable to the complete image.
