my CPU keeps maxing out when I go to the animations page even turning off animations running still kills my CPU, wtf is happening? I have an i7 6700K 6th gen and I have never maxed my load from doing anything to this day. It is an old CPU at this point but it is by far the best CPU I have had in the long term. I just can't think its the CPU; I open Edge or Brave (no other applications are running mind you), log in mixamo, switch to the animation tab, turn off the animations - CPU is at 100%. Come on adobe, what are you doing.

Hello guys,
I had the same problem, for Chrome you need to do this:

Enable hardware acceleration in Google Chrome is the problem for me

From the upper-right of your Chrome browser, click the three dots icon.

Select Settings.

Click Advanced and select System.

Enable Use hardware acceleration when available.

Remember that Chrome is a RAM/GPU hog.  ^Above are great things to remember^!

Also:

13 Ways to Fix Chrome using too much Memory
  1. Enable hardware acceleration.
  2. Disable unnecessary Chrome extensions.
  3. Update Chrome browser.
  4. Turn off Chrome's high memory usage paging.
  5. Use specific extensions to manage paging.
  6. Get help from Google Help.
  7. Clear Chrome cache and cookies.
  8. Create a new user profile for Chrome.

Open Chrome. Click the horizontal ellipsis menu button in the top-right corner and click on Settings. Click on System. Under the “System” section, turn off the “Use hardware acceleration when available” toggle switch.

Under the System section I turned on the "Use hardware acceleration when available" and that actually helped for me. Thanks for the answer!

I had the same issue, and the reason was that Unreal Engine 5 was running in the background, so the downloading was taking a very long time. I closed Unreal Engine 5 in the background, and it solved the problem for me.
