P: Photoshop Beta (BUG) Free Transform and Transform Selection no longer work

Photoshop Beta, version 25.2 (latest)
OS: Windows 11

Troubleshooting steps:
- I have uninstalled ALL adobe products, rebooted and reinstalled. Still same issue
- Reset prefrences on quit

Steps to reproduce:
1. create new project
2. Select Rectangular Marque Tool
3. Select an area on the page
4. right-click, and chose either Free Transform or Transform Selection

5. clicking and dragging on the handles does nothing, not even rotate works.

The only way to actually transform what you have selected is to change the values in the top bar, or by clicking on a vector (X:, Y:, W:, H:) and dragging.  Grabbing and dragging the box handles do nothing.

This works okay in Photoshop Beta 25.1 and the current version of regular, non-beta, Photoshop.

Hello... Beta version of PS in M tool (selection)

When you create selection and right-click... and choose the option in >the Live Transform  or Transform Selection Menu ( is disabled to resize the selection )

On PS version of v.25.1 it works normally

This issue started in v.25.2 and still persist! I'm Beta User from January - and I'm forced to use the regular version because of this bug at the basic application level.
This error occurs both - on my WORK COMPUTER (Win10Home) as well as on my HOME COMPUTER (Win11Pro) in Beta PS. I strongly believe it has some connections with Nvidia driver, but I'm guessing here. 😉

I'm a Photoshop Beta user who is experiencing an odd situation with the free transform tool. In the past, we've been able to make multiple translations, rotations, scales and sheers at a time with free transform before committing the subject to its final resting place.

However over the last few days, I've begun running into an issue where Photoshop requires me to commit the transformation after making one movement. Whether it's a scale, translate, shear or rotate, no matter which side or corner of the bounding box I grab, Photoshop requires me to commit the movement before making another one. Oddly enough, a ctrl+z will revert the subject's translation to its original location, but will keep the bounding box locked in place.

Any ideas?

Hi,

When using the "Transform Selection" command from the context menu with a selection, or trying to resize the text box of a paragraph text, the transform box handles don't move/respond.

Any clue?

Reverting to Beta v25.1 as recommended by OP and Alazp in the thread Trevor linked helped resolve the issue for now

Downloaded the latest beta on 12/22/2023 - Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.4.0 20231220.m.2439 ceb99ef x64.

Will not allow me to drag a picture to empty canvas, drag in drop is not working. Have been using the beta since it came out and have never had this problem. Thanks

This is driving me crazy!! I'm trying to design something and can't transform any of my layers! Is this going to be fixed, or not!!! I believe this is a very important thing in photoshop! UGH!

To add to the pile, this has happened to me in every version of Photoshop I've used in the past two years on 2-3 different Windows 10 installs across a few machines. I'm not even sure what version to download anymore. Last stable release did it and the last two beta updates did it. Seems like if I change update the problem goes away, but it always starts again almost spontaneously and when it starts, no amount of closing, restarting, or transform settings changes allows it to work again.
