When using the remove tool in the latest beta version of Photoshop, I end up with a black smudge mark (see attached photo). Am I the only one with this issue? Thanks
Glad to see all the failures with the remove tool. I will be uninstalling PS Beta forthwith. I cannot bill my clients for wasting time being a PS guinea pig.
Hi all. Im using PS beta 25.10 abd PS-Regular 24.7 and the Black Blotches still persists. I love the Remove Tool. It is singularly one of the most awesome updates yet and i hope it gets fixed soon!
I'm getting the same issue on the new version 25 (Photoshop 2024) that was just released. I'm on a MacBook Pro 16 inch, 2019 Intel, macOS 13.5.2 with an AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4GB video card.

I'm having the same issue since I updated to Beta 25.1 and PS 25. A blob of black and grey pixels shows up. Has anyone found a decent solution? This is definitely a bug.
I am updated to the most recent version of photoshop and was hoping this bug would be fixed (the remove tool worked fine for me for awhile then stopped in the summer, i veen tried Beta at the time, and it did not work either) -- I was hoping with the newest update it would be fixed but I am still having this issue! I tried the "fix" linked in the known issues -- i changed the setting and restarted me computer and I still just get a giant black pixellated spot wherever I have tried to use the remove tool. PLEASE fix this!!!
I have also updated to the latest Photoshop 2024 (version 25.0.0) and the black smudge appears whenever I try to use the Remove tool. I have a Macbook Pro with one of the affected Intel UHD graphics cards and had previously disabled automatic graphics switching, so that didn't solve the problem with the Remove tool in Photoshop 2024. Come on Adobe--please, please fix this! There have to be hundreds of thousands of computers with those graphics cards!
@FranGal12 you have posted about Ps release based on your sysinfo, this thread is for Ps beta so please be sure to post your issue on the Ps release forum for the best response.
My 10 cents. I also have this problem of the correction tool leaving a black spot or a black line after trying to remove a smudge. All of a sudden since a couple of days. Working on Photoshop 2024 version 25.6. It is rather annoying I'd say! The only thing I discovered that if you just keep going correcting more smudges and in the end you click command+Z just once they all disappear and no harm seems to be done.
@sierdo it appears that you have a CC Photography plan that indeed includes any and all Ps betas....
Try logging out and then back in to your CCD app, then click on Apps on the left side, then scroll accross the top to Betas and you should see Ps and if there is a new one, you should get a button to update.
If you do not see this, please share your sysinfo and we will see if something else is going on.
It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
Thank you! Did all you told me to do and now have 25.9 Beta open. It seems we're "back in business" hence everything looks like the PS I was used to a couple of months ago. The million dollar question remains... What happened that made PS go off track so badly, urging dozens of paying users to frantically look for workarounds? And.. when is it going out of Beta stage?
