Use Cmd+Click the tab to reveal the Finder. Ctrl+Click is the equivalent of a right-click, back from the days when we had a one button mouse.

 

I've found that in some apps, I need to pull the window down first (float), then drag it up again (docked). You can also find Float and Consolidate in the Window menu.
