Photoshop beta Brush Tool Is a Cursor instead of a Circle

Explorer ,
Aug 05, 2023 Aug 05, 2023

I am using Adobe Photoshop beta (24.7.0) on a Macbook Pro. I use the Quick Selection tool to select and then mask a subject. When I want to us the brush tools (Quick Selection, Refine Edge) to clean up the edges the brush is a cursor instead of the circle that I am used to working with.  Are others encountering this and what is the fix?

I think I see what you mean. This is in the Select and Mask workspace? It could be a bug that is just in the beta release, especially if it works fine in the release version. It might be worth submitting a bug report over in the Bugs section of the Photoshop (Beta) forum. This sounds similar to another post in that beta forum.

Yes, it is I. The Select and Mask workspace. It does work fine in the release version.

I too noticed this issue earlier today.  The cursor is the tool on screen inspite of the fact that when I look at the size of the brush it is adjustable but just does not show on the screen.  The functionality is there but it makes it hard to see exactly where the adjustments will be made.

Yup, I have that problem too on my Macbook Pro M1, the brush cursor just disappears.

I am having exact same issue, tried everything on my end thinking I had changed a setting.  I just went back to the previous version of ps to make my adjustments.
