I also have an educational account and version 25 is giving me the "this feature is not available"

Hi Mikkel5D99, 

 You must contact your IT administrator managing Adobe Admin Console.

  • The Generative AI will not work with Creative Cloud All Apps plan EDU for shared device if there is no entitlement for photoshop on it, please check with your Admin if that is the plan you are currently using and ask to add Photoshop Entitlement if that is the case.

 This may be the reasons why you are getting this error message when using the generative AI in Photoshop 2024 (version 25.0).

Is there a reason for this?
Why can't students work with Generative AI. This is a major setback, and strange having different tools depending on the licence.

I agree with Mikkel, Anthony. It is complete BS that the features of an app varies depending on what license you are on. Please take it up with the Adobe team that this is simply unfair, and stingy. Any legitimate license for Photoshop and Adobe CC should have access to the same features.

I talked to Adobe support on chat. If you're an edu account and have handed out the licenses via shared device usage, the feature will not work. If the device is instead assigned to a user, the feature will work, at least accordingto them.

This is the problem don't you think? We only have an SDL and looks like our company has no intention of getting a or setting up that per user license, it's just how it is, to limit devices and what not. Well, I say considering that whatever license you have, by user or device, considering that you cannot use more than the device limit for whatever license you have, it should just simply work. I hope they fix this in a future update. And completely rethink and revamp admin console and creative cloud. Enterprise, business and education just seems so much more inconvenient as compared to personal users.
