I am in illustrator and I have been working with your beta PSD for a while now this latest release 25.7 m2550  has a signifigant lag while i draw. Never happened before. I will be drawing with a basic brush on a 11x17 canvas and about 25-30 strokes in i get no feedback and then about 10 seconds later a random line will show up again. I am on a 2021 macbook pro on an Wacom Cintiq 21UX and have never had any issues until this update. Thanks!

If you're experiencing significant lag while drawing in Illustrator after updating to version 25.7 m2550, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Restart Illustrator: Sometimes, simply restarting the application can resolve performance issues.
  2. Check System Resources: Ensure that your MacBook Pro has enough available memory (RAM) and processing power to handle Illustrator smoothly. Close any unnecessary applications or processes running in the background that may be consuming system resources.
  3. Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure that your Mac's graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause performance issues.
  4. Reset Illustrator Preferences: Resetting Illustrator preferences can sometimes resolve unexpected behavior. To do this, hold down Shift + Option + Command (Mac) while launching Illustrator. You will be prompted to confirm whether you want to delete the settings.
  5. Adjust Performance Preferences: In Illustrator, go to Preferences > Performance and adjust the settings to optimize performance for your system. You can try adjusting options such as GPU Performance, GPU Preview Mode, and Cache Levels.
  6. Check Wacom Tablet Settings: Ensure that your Wacom tablet drivers are up to date. You can also try adjusting the tablet settings within the Wacom Tablet Properties application to see if that improves performance.
  7. Test with a Different Document: Try creating a new document with different dimensions and settings to see if the lag persists. It's possible that the issue may be specific to the document you're currently working on.
  8. Roll Back to Previous Version: If the issue persists and you suspect it's related to the Illustrator update, you can consider rolling back to the previous version of Illustrator that was working fine for you until Adobe addresses the performance issues in a future update.
