FIX ARTBOARDS!!!

After some recent updates, Photoshop started having serious performance issues with artboards. Even a very simple artboard now causes Photoshop to freeze or become extremely slow when moving or duplicating it. Actions that used to be instant now take several seconds and sometimes completely lock the program.

I recorded a video that is attached here to demonstrate the problem.

In older versions (around version 24, if I remember correctly), it was possible to work with artboards containing many layers without any performance issues. Tested on macOS and Windows.

Now, the same workflow is causing problems on both systems.

This is significantly affecting productivity, and I’d like to know if this is a known issue or if there is a recommended fix or workaround.

Recorded on version 27.2

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Could you please share your system info so that we can take a closer look at the situation? In Photoshop, go to Help > System Info > Copy and paste the contents into a text/Word file. You can share it via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another public file-sharing platform.

In the meantime, you can try turning OFF your GPU in Preferences > Performance > uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" and see if the situation improves.

Thanks a lot!
