I keep getting pop-up "Help" or "Tips" or whatever, but the "No Thank You" button doesn't work

Bad enough that there's no option to disable "popups on startup" that I could find in the settings.

I clicked on "No thank you" a dozen times and it wouldn't go away.
my computer beeped me when I tried to click outside of the modal.

I had to force-close Photoshop and Re-open it.

In Photoshop go to Edit>Preferences>Tools and uncheck Show Rich Tooltips and see if that makes a difference.

it was already unchecked. I assumed that was for things like when you hover over, say, the paintbrush in the tool pallette, but even so, it was unchecked.

I have the same issue (Photoshop 25.7.0) all of a sudden with these popups appearing (and the No Thank You button doing nothing.  I tried turning off the rich tooltips but it made no difference for me.  Tooltips are actually okay with me, but this popup appears right in the middle of working on something and grabs focus until it is interacted with.  I believe its meant to be helpful, but it is very annoying.

BTW, you can hit "Escape" key to close the window.  That seems to be the only thing that it responds to.  However, it seems to pop up in the center of the screen, again, in about 5 minutes, sadly.

(sorry for the duplicate - I did the second reply through email and it came through much later than expected - after I had replied through the web-ui)

I would also like to stop receiving these kinds of pop ups, "helpful tips," or anything similar. I can confirm they are unrelated to the "Show Rich Tooltips" option that has already been mentioned. That box is unchecked for me.

Did you try it to get rid of the video that is associated with the menu bar? Is it that pop up you are talking about?

no, its the one that Keith mentioned above. Its like this. Happens when you add another layer, and add a mask to it. it keeps coming up despite closing them or dismissing them. surely a big. didn't happen yesterdayScreenshot 2024-09-27 at 11.59.46 AM.png

Hi,

Is your contextual menu bar open on your screen?

Where is the video poping up on your screen?

I was just talking to someone on another thread that had the same problem and he tried it and it got rid of the popup. If it's not the rich tooltips that you are talking about, then can you at least give it a shot and see if it works?

yes it fixed the issue, however my workflow needs the contextual bar at all times. Thank you Michelle, even though it doesn't really work for my flow!

Doesn't work for me either. I NEED the contextual taskbar to be open. I wish to use it as it's intended to be used. To have to close it in order to get rid of these very stupid popups is crazy. Adobe needs to give us a better method to turn the pop ups off. I keep getting the one posted above about removing background and it pops up constantly. Sign me very frustrated.

Just found a way to fix...Try to logout your email on help>signout account and re login again.... That works to me! I dont need anymore to hide the contextual bar just to fix the issue. ..

I can confirm that BellyB solution works! Thanks so much. There shouldn't be really this nagging obstruction in the first place for the majority of users. Reminds me of the old annoying Microsoft Clippy.
