P: Auto Blend Layers not focus blending - Photoshop 2014.1

I have 4 registered images of fungi, all images are at the same exposure settings but focused at different levels within the frame. I need to 'blend' together to make one image with a combined DoF.
Ok, so I've imporetd into PSCC as 4 stacked Layers, non of which are Background Layers. I've selected all 4, auto alligned and then used Auto Blend Layers [ABL]. The outcome is that the top 3 layers have totaly black masks applied and the bottom all white. All I basically get as an output is one of the 4 images, no selectivity whatsoever, presumably because of the 3 totally black masks. It also executes the process very quickly.
I assume ABL should be selecting the better focused areas on each image [white on the black masks] and combining all to give me one image with collective DoF. This isn't happening

Yes, and this site does not support DreamWeaver.

Everybody, keep calm.
The issue is adressed. Auto-blend works...

Now, let's move on to Dreamweaver...
Milestone. Adobe supporting Bracket, must now support DW.
Muse is entertaining. EA is less integrated than it should be.
Extracting CSS absoluting positionning in PS or AI isn't quite a improvement.
We need DW improvements. Not design improvements. Ergonomy improvements.

I found hard to keep potential customers/students interested in pursuing any training about DW just by saying "Oh, and it well integrates with photoshop..."
That's not appealing.. at all...

Well, I'm off-topic..

lots of comments directed to Adobe on this subject.
Looks like the integrity of giving people what they paid for or fixing it when it breaks are going down the slippery slope.

Function was broke in initial release but there were work arounds, next release killed it totally.

How does one get an answer to questions like this, or has Adobe just gotten to big ????

Thank you. I was puzzled that I didn't get an update notice. But it is working now.

You don't have the most current update. You have to go to iCloud and install it. You will not get a courtesy notice. Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.2.0 20140926.r.236 2014/09/26:23:59:59 x64

As of yesterday I was having this problem (first encountered it a couple of weeks ago). I am on the CC Photography Bundle plan and all updates have been installed. Can someone advise?

You only need to install the latest update.

Should we install the previous update as well as the October update (2014.2)?
Or just the latest?
