P: Crashing upon opening on Windows

Suddenly getting an error report when I try to launch PS. I have the latest version running on Windows 10.

The pop up says that Photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close.

The report shows a bunch of lines of code which means nothing to me.

I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing.

Any ideas?

I've had the same problem repeatedly since installing the lastest update. I solved it by forcing GPU on with a UserConfig file.  I paid too much for this GPU four years ago to let Adobe force me to switch it out just yet.

I was able to find two crash buckets from the crashes you submitted against 23.1. I have asked engineering to take a look.

They may also want to see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

If you go to Help > System Info... in Photoshop, what version does the top line say?

Thanks for the help, but that doesn't match my file structure. There is no Appdata folder after Users/User name.

I tried a search and there doesn't seem to be a Appdata folder anywhere on my system.

Try manually. Navigate to Photoshop's Preferences folder:

Windows: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
Drag the entire Adobe Photoshop [Version] Settings folder to the desktop or somewhere safe for a back-up of your settings

Open Photoshop.

Better?

I'm not getting that prompt.

Try resetting your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

Any better?

It's happening again. This time I was sure to submit the crash report with my email.

I'm not very technical and need help with this.

Thanks.
