P: Document Dimensions Display do not update after cropping

I have Document Dimensions displayed on the very bottom left footer of Photoshop.  I just noticed after cropping a photo it still shows the original dimensions.  I would swear (been doing this for years) that before after I cropped an image it would show the cropped dimensions.  The only way it shows the crop dimensions now is when I save the photo.  Is this a bug?  I just updated to 23.5 on Windows 10 64 bit.

I can confirm this. When changing the canvas size of a document, the document size display at the bottom left either does not update or updates wildly incorrrectly. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open an image. 2) Change the image size. 3) Change the canvas size by making the canvas 1" larger with a white background. Canvas size display is incorrect.

With the latest update seems to come a really foolish change to the display of the file size that shows in the lower left below the image.  Used to be that when you changed the image size, by cropping for example, the document file size would immediately update.  Now, after cropping an image the document size doesn't change until after saving.  

So for example, when cropping I need to keep in mind not going below 25MB file size if I want to use the image for selling as stock.  In all the years up 'till now I'd just look at the document size displayed after cropping.  If after a crop the file size was at 35MB I knew I'd be able to crop further and still meet the minimum.  If the size was at 23MB I knew I'd need to go back one step and re-crop taking off less than the previous crop.  With the new change, the file size isn't updated until the image is saved, which obviously makes the workflow more clunky.  Can't imagine any upside to the new change.

I've seen some intermittent display issues like this on both Mac and Windows, failure to refresh. It usually corrects itself eventually without any specific action on my part.

I've noticed on the PS 23.5 release that as I add new layers, etc., the Document Sizes indicator at the bottom left of the window never increases as it has in previous versions. If I click on another option, such as Document Profile, then click back on Document Sizes, it then displays the correct size but will not increase from there until I repeat the process.

Indeed, Status is apparently the official name.

c.pfaffenbichler has called it the status bar. I always thought "bar" was a bit odd, but maybe that's what it is.

I think I'll go with status bar. It doesn't matter to me what it's called, but it's nice to have something to refer posters to, so they know where to look.

Hi @asus pa 249q thank you for the reply. It truly helps us to see ALL the system info as many configurations can sometimes be an issue. Also, manually restoring preferences can also fix many issues that crop up when an update is done.

Information at bottom left of window (next to zoom percentage) is not updating automatically when changes are made to documents. To recreate - create a new document with a web preset. Set the bottom left info menu to 'Document Profile'. The info at bottom left will show the correct current document profile. Then convert to CMYK (Image > Mode > CMYK) the information displayed at bottom left will not change. Then change the bottom left info menu to 'Document Sizes.' The info will correctly display the current document size. If you resize the document, the display will not change. If you set the bottom left info menu to 'Smart Objects' and then create a new Smart Object, the info does not change. However, whenever you switch the menu to a different setting, the display will change to reflect the correct Document Size, Document Profile, Smart Objects, etc. The display is just not updating automatically to respond to changes in the document. I've attached a screenshot showing the incorrect Document Profile displayed at bottom left, with the correct profile displayed in the top menu bar, which should not be possible.
