Some are finding that uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling it resolves this issue for them.

Thank you for reporting this @derekwatson , strangely I wasn't able to find the crash reports but appreciate you sending them off.

The team will investigate what might be going on here, apologies for the trouble!

Cheers,

PG

Can anyone who ran into this issue provide the installer logs via the log collector tool?

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html

Can you email the resulting zip (or zxp) to me if possible? petgreen at adobe dot com

This will help the team investigate the issue further.

Thank you!

Bonjour,

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

if you don't get any expert answers, and you have illustrator beta installed, try uninstalling the beta.

I have this error, when I open Photoshop or illustrator, it makes me uncomfortable. Why is that?

By @Helmut 25

Adobe is aware of this issue. See the Correct answer from @SanyamTalwar in this thread. The issue is that the .jsx file is missing the closing brace and there are two workarounds until Adobe fixes it.

Although another Expert says your post was moved from Creative Cloud desktop, it is still there.

This does seem to resolve the issue althought some are having to delete preferences.

Maybe restart between installing the different version of PhotoShop may relsove that problem.

Hi @Pete.Green
The apps weren't crashing, just having this pop up when opening. Looks like PhotSHop update was breaking for many but reverting and reupdating resolves it

I'm seeing the same issue after updating to 26.5 — the error appears on launch in both InDesign and Illustrator. Disabling the Photoshop startup scripts from the startup folders temporarily stops the pop-up, but not sure if that's the ideal fix. Hope Adobe patches this soon.
