P: Index Color: does not allow grabbing a color with eyedropper from another file

CS5- when trying to change a color in an index file- when you click on the color is the palette box, it gives you the color picker- BUT it does not allow you to change the color by grabbing a color with your eyedropper from another file or even pasting a hex code in the box. I have to select a color manual from the picker- then trick it to excepting a new color. This feature worked in CS4. I am on a MAc OS 10.6.8- Pro Tower- 10 GIG ram- 1.5 TB scratch disk.

Hi Rita, I think I can reproduce this. Can you try a workaround for me? When you bring up the color picker from the Color Table dialog, try clicking once anywhere in the dialog and then try sampling a color from an open image in Photoshop:

Image is not available

Does that work to allow you to sample a new color with the eyedropper?

Yes, the work around does work. I do notice however, that I do not get the eyedropper tool right away. I need to click first, then it becomes the eyedropper. Thanks for the work around.

Excellent. Thanks. Glad that workaround works for you. I'll have the team investigate the root issue.
