I've just downloaded the new photoshop update (22.01) and I noticed there is no classic red area when you change Brush size and feathering (when using keyboard shortcut OPTION+CONTROL).

If you read some of the earlier postings you'll see that this is a known problem that's been around since the last or so release of Ps. It's acknowledged by Adobe but there is no ETA for when it will be corrected.

Hi. I am using Big Sur version 22.1 release on a brand new MacBook with the M1 chip... And I am also experiencing the red overlay not being there when I adjust the brush size holding down CONTROL + OPTION + dragging the brush up/down left/right I can't see the hardness or opacity any longer by default. This is like, a critical feature to the brush and quite obnoxious that it's not there?! Really interrupts my workflow.

*viafoci if you read back you’ll see there’s loads of us with the exact same problem. The guys from Adobe seem to try fixing it though there’s been software updates with no improvement of the matter. However, downgrading Photoshop to version 21.2.4 will bring back the brush size/hardness red dot selection feature.
