P: No red preview when changing brush size

LEGEND ,
Nov 19, 2020 Nov 19, 2020

I've just downloaded the new photoshop update (22.01) and I noticed there is no classic red area when you change Brush size and feathering (when using keyboard shortcut OPTION+CONTROL).

it is quite frustrating

Thanks for reporting this issue. This issue was fixed in 22.1.1 which released late last night.

So two days ago I was busy using photoshop and nothing to my knowledge went wrong, closed the application off after I was done with any of my tasks only to find the next day when using the brush tool (I use this everyday) or any other brush that can be resized, that red circle that would indicate hardness or the size of the brush had disappeared, i've uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop and it still hasn't fixed it, i have all settings ticked in the performance tab for my graphics card except the 30 bit display. My graphics drivers had been updated to the latest version and there are no issues with it,  has anyone else perhaps had this problem and found a solution? I have the latest update of Photoshop CC (version 22.1).

No, but of course you can still change the size and the hardness of the brush. And if you use the bracket keys to change the size, then you can still see what you are doing, for example.

When I scale the brush with cmd + option + rightclick I had a red indicator of the brushsize and softness. This is gone now after the recent update.

How can I get this back? My settings are correct and I changed nothing manually in this direction.

Same problem here. First I thought it was my update of MacOs to Big Sur, but it is not I can see. Frustrating that Adobe 'fixes something that ain't broken'. And this feature is NOT a niche feature! Adobe please step up and increase your quality control.

Nearly a month, other patches/updates and still no fix? This makes 22 unusable for many people. Any sort of ETA on when this will be resolved?

My photoshop no longer shows the red preview of the brush's hardness (alt + right click mouse), I don't know how to make this preview appear in red again. Can someone help me?

Just upgraded to Big Sur on new 2020 imac and same problem. I really rely on the red indicator for hardness when using the alt+mouse left/right to change the hardness of the brush.

I realize this is a known issue that started a release or so back. I just downloaded the latest version of PS  22.1.0 20201125.r.94 2020/11/25: 4b16c876033  x64 and the issue is still not fixed. I am running PS on Win 10 Pro Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.685)

I still have the same problem with no solution after the last update...

It's so FRUSTRATING working with this ... and insane!

Can you imagine if you paint a painting and you don't see the size and type of your brush in your hand ????

... and if you work and earn a living with this ???... (madness)

My settings:
16-inch MacBook Pro 2019
RAM 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
2.3 GHz 8-core Intel Core i9
SO Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2)
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB
All the latest versions of the full Adobe CC package

PLEASE Adobe, hurry up and SOLVE your problems, because users paid all the years a lot of money for Apps WITHOUT PROBLEMS and they should not correct their jobs with this pain, it is impossible to do the jobs correctly with many problems on their machines and it is very frustrating for us.

KILL our creativity when you focus all the resources of your mind on poorly executed applications with so many problems and dysfunctions ...

PLEASE !!!

I'm using photoshop 22.1.0 and I started having this issue soon after update. I reset all my preferences, uninstalled and re-installed the app to no avail. Are you still experiencing this issue with this version of photoshop? JeffreyTranberry, will there be a fix?

Same problem here. Just updated to 22.1.0  expecting it to be fixed. Very disappointing that the problem has not been addressed yet. PLEASE address this issue, it is as basic a tool as you can get and it was working fine for the last 20 versions.

You'd think that something as fundamental and well used would not be messed up like this without being found in regression testing after new features are added to the product. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
