P: No red preview when changing brush size

LEGEND ,
Nov 19, 2020 Nov 19, 2020

I've just downloaded the new photoshop update (22.01) and I noticed there is no classic red area when you change Brush size and feathering (when using keyboard shortcut OPTION+CONTROL).

it is quite frustrating

This problem is now over two months old, and is the most ridiculously frustrating ever. Adobe does not seem to really care to fix it, or give any replies as to whether or not they are even attempting to fix it anymore.!

@daveh Indeed. I'm back to Photoshop CC2019 which is the last version that worked properly for me. When I got my Adobe subscription invoice yesterday, I was just smirking.

I am also experiencing the same issue.  Using Alienware Laptop.  It certainly makes working a challenge.  Like most of you, I understand it takes time to make fixes, but this one should be a quickie since it was working before.  It's not creating new code, it's fixing something that was broken.  @JeffreyTranberry, can you please provide an update?  Thank you!

@Andreas Resch  I wish I could do that but I cannot even roll back to CC2019. Adobe seems to be more worried about adding  gimmick features  to woo new subscribers than to actually keep the program functional for people with not even so old systems. The other problem is they are  making so many changes that somewhat older GPUs are no longer being able to keep up. Adobes help page leads around in circles then basically says to go out and buy new hardware if certain features no longer work as expected! 😞

@Artyom Kojoker check that you are running the correct version. Help -> About and check that the version is 22.1.1 !

I did notice that after an 'update' that I can actually have multiple versions of PS installed!

Cheers

well that's lovely and although I am happy for you all I will miss the trashtalk! However, I do have one question more.

How do I update to 22.1.1? My current version (22.1) is the latest version I can get.

Sometime you have to wait some hours to have the update available in the creative cloud app. If you launch creative cloud app you don't see the update ?

When I  go to my Creative Cloud app I do not see 12.1.1. I have 12.1.0 and it says I'm up to date. Running Catalina on Mac desktop.

Did you try going to Help > Check for Updates... from the Creative Cloud desktop app?
