PS 2022 Object Selection Tool is not working.  It just puts a blue highlighted box over the subject.  I have many different photos and the same thing happens every time.

Enigneering is having a hard time reproducing. Please make sure you're on 23.0.1 update. If you're still having trouble after updating, please share PSDs/files that reproduce the behavior. A video of your steps would be nice, too.

It's working ok here for me on Win 10. When you hover over a subject and get the blue overlay, do you click in that area to select it?

Please post the information in this list:

Hi, thank you for your input. I have Windows 10 also and I made sure it is
updated. I have hovered over the subject and clicked on it and it selects
the entire picture.

Here is the photo of my problem with the Object Selection Tool.  I have Adobe Photoshop Version: 23.0.0.  My Windows version is 10.0.19043, I have 16 GB of RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz and a 64-bit operating system.  I hope this is enough information.  I have not received any error messages, just cannot get it to select a subject when hovering over the picture like I see in all the examples.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  Thank you!

The first thing I would try is to reset the PS preferences. You can do that in the menu: Preferences, General click on the Reset Preferences button.

Otherwise, I would try uninstall and reinstall PS.

I have tried both suggestions and still get the same results. I may have
to call support tomorrow and see what they say.

Thanks for your help!

Were you able to get this resolved? If not, It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Ever since I've installed Photoshop on my new M1 Pro Macbook Pro (Version 23.0.0), I've been unable to detect subjects. Or when it does, oit selects a large amount of background around the subject as well.

I never have bben able to find any object in any photo using the Object finder tool.

I don't know what is going wrong.

Can you post a screenshot with your layers panel showing, as well as a screen shot of the result where there's "a large amount of background around the subject"?

Can you still reproduce with Ps 23.1? If so, could you provide us the test file image you used? And also provide Photoshop > Help menu > System info?

I'm having a similar issue. It highlights an object for me but when I want it expanded (to the plate), it does absolutely nothing when I click in the blue. I just upgraded to 23.1.1 with no luck. photoshop dumb.jpg
