P: Pen Pressure not working with Huion devices with Photoshop v 25.0 & above

Community Beginner ,
Feb 28, 2024 Feb 28, 2024

I noticed that with the arrival of the new update for 2024, the pen pressure has stopped working and even in general the program is quite laggy, when you make a stroke or use the lasso tool for a short period of time it freezes and does not let you continue, hindering the workflow, I am using a Huion Kamvas 13 and the pen pressure works with any other program like Clip Studio, Krita even works in Illustrator.
But I can't get it to work again in Photoshop.
Searching for solutions in forums and videos I HAVE TRIED THE FOLLOWING METHODS:

-Have the pen pressure checkbox active in the brush settings.
-Verify that the Window Ink checkbox is active from the Huion driver.
-Even try with the famous text file "# Use WinTab UseSystemStylus 0".

None of this has solved my problem, I honestly can't say in which update specifically I noticed this error, but I know it was from this year's update.

I am a bit frustrated as I have not been able to work properly and I need to resolve it.

Thanks

Turning off windows ink, fixed our issue of not being able to click and drag in illustrator. THANK YOU!

I'm having the same problem. Haven't been able to figure out where you're supposed to save that .txt file so I haven't been able to do that one yet (all the file structures I see in posts about this don't seem to exist on my machine, though clearly photoshop runs so I don't know what's different). But I've tried all the other obvious things... nothing seems to work. Really frustrating as I can't do visual work without it. (As I mostly take a digital painting approach, pressure is pretty critical). Need a solution to being able to draw that doesn't require a technical degree to figure out.

Has anyone figured this out yet? This is ludicrous

Hello. Ever since switching to PS2025, my huion pen hasn't worked with pen pressure and tilt settings - basically no information from the pen is coming through aside movement. I can't work with the previous workarounds because I can't find the folders suggested.  Also the usual windows ink -solution doesn't work.

It's a bit disappointing this is still a issue. Any ideas how to get my tablet to work this time? I'm on win11 environment, all drivers up to date, Huion Kamvas 13 GS1331.

I had the same problem. I don't remember if it was this way but try "restore preference on exit" which is in the "preferences" menu and then "general"

Hello.
Noticed updates and tried that, but no news for Huion working.
I also tried to install older version, and I can't get any shape dynamics working anymore with it either, even if it worked before...

I just got photoshop 2 days ago, I use an Inspiroy H1060P Huion drawing tablet. I've tried everything to fix it, make a new file, reset my computer, reinstall photoshop, it hasen't fixed a thing.

Exact same problem. I tried all the old fixes again, but nothing resolves it. Just get the error warning on all the pen pressure and tilt controls. This is wildly annoying, and the fact it's been going on for so long with no fix is really disheartening.

There is no "Drawing" category in the preferences for Ps 2025 (shown below), what is your dialog box from?

Anyone solved?

I have Wacom PTH660 and it works well on previous version(25.12.1) but broken with 26.~

I've already done text files, off the windows ink

You can tell v26.~ doesn't recognize tablet through the brush list

Another ridiculous thing is the latest Photoshop loads 1 year ago files on recently open files list

Do you have install PS v26 as an update? If yes most of the settings from the former version will be taken over. If you want to clean the list click in PS on "File - Open Recent..." , goto to the end of the list and click on "Clear Recent File List"

Do you have tried to create a file in "C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2026\Adobe Photoshop 2026 Settings" called "PSUserConfig.txt"

Insert the following lines:

# Use WinTab

UseSystemStylus 0

Then restart Photoshop.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 14 - Photoshop 26 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz PhotoAI 4

Why does it pan the canvas instead of adjusting the gradient slider when I try to use the Gradient Tool? The same thing happens when I use CTRL + stylus to move an object. Also, when I try to pan the canvas with Space + stylus, it only moves strictly vertically/horizontally. I already tried reinstalling the driver. If I untick Windows Ink it helps with the problem, but pen pressure stops working. I don't see this problem in other art softwares.
The problem started after reinstalling windows, before that everything worked fine (in Photoshop)
