P: Photoshop 23.3 is slow and heavy

The current Photoshop version is very slow.

(It was fast and accurate until version PS 21.0.3, and the problem began after that)

1. Hand tool(=press space bar) and move area is slow (ofcousre disable panning)

2. liquify zoom(There is a delay once when zooming in more than 50%. Unconditionally, Version 21.0.3 is smooth no lag)

3. layer toggle visable slow (Ctrl + ,) its React one beat slower. (This part until version PS2015.5. 2015.5 is really fast and smooth everything. Check this.....)

I don't know why if I have to pay my monthly subscription and work harder.

Some say. Don't update it unconditionally, report people's reactions.

Always leave the previous version and update to the latest version. But I always use the previous version. It is now 2022. Until when should my working environment stay in 2015.5 Photoshop or 2020 Photoshop?

I've done dozens of reinstallations, and I've done dozens of computer formats. Regardless of the type of computer, this was a problem with the Photoshop version. It wasn't even a plug-in problem.(disable native canavs thing is already try... 😃 )

It's not abut my pc. 
I tested it on everyone's computer I know and I got the same conclusion.
(Ryzen5600x, 5900x, intel 12900k, imac, m1 mini ... etc all the same)

CHECK this , and fix Please. How many more years should I wait...?

ps23.2, it's not my computer's problem. It was okay until the previous version.
window10 user, and already turn off native canvas ruller things. tried reset.

Have to Fix this!

Why can't use "Scrubby Zoom" in liquify?
This is a very old problem. This will also have to be fixed.

I don't know when this bug starting exactly. (But i guess... from 23.2?)
Delay or Lag It happens unconditionally when try zoom more than 50% in liquify.(it's mean 66.7 or 100%~).
It doesnt matter way(= mouse, or keyboard shortcut or wacom tablet everything).

My image size is mostly from 6000x4000px~. And previous version is well done for me.(i mean ps2021, 2020, 2019, 2018~)

Windows10 user, Ryzen5600x, Ram 128GB, NvmeSSD, 2070super GPU.

No install plug in. And already try reset setting and reinstall =(. But it's same.

There is a delay when zooming in more than 50% every time i'm work.

Of course, the delay is not long. For about a second.

BUT!!!

There is inevitably a delay of 1 second per picture, and liquify is used up to 10 times when working on 1 picture. IT'S VERY BAD NEWS FOR ME.

btw, If i select a small area(use marquee or lasso thing) and run a separate liquify, that's fine.

But I don't want to do that, and I haven't done that. Because the specifications of my computer are very good, it always worked smoothly in the whole area without selection.

And one more thing is... i tried make Small size(1000px), and it's no delay.

Is there something wrong with the rendering method of loading the photo? If it exceeds a certain size, it will unconditionally slow down. However, most of the photos I work on are at least 6000x4000, which is absolutely impossible to work with a smaller size depending on the customer's request.

I also pasted the info into the inquiry I posted a few days ago. The difference here is that there is no plug-in and change memory usage(it just test). Other than that, it's all the same. And what's important is not only my computer, but also when I run it and test it on other Windows computers, it's all the same. Everyone I know talks about the bug. Should I bring all their info? I don't think it's meaningful. This is an internal defect....

- Is this a comparison between two recent Photoshop versions, or a comparison of Photoshop 2015 against new versions?

If you have any sample files that you can share, that would be helpful in diagnosing the issues. Also, please share with us your system info (launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info, then copy/paste the text in a reply). This in turn helps the team prioritize what type of performance improvements to work on as well as determine if there is specific hardware that is struggling.

And i'm talking about the current version(23.3). 
The reason why I mentioned a specific version(shch as ps21.0.3 is no liquify lag, ps2015.5 is no lag when layer toggle) as an example is to inform you of a stable version that does not cause delays or problems.

I think the layer toggle delay bug that occurred after ps2015.5 was caused by the change of engine inside Photoshop, and I also know that it is not easy to solve it.

BUT, must fix that Liquify zoom lag...

I like the specifications of the computer, so there is only a short delay, but most people say that when zoom in more than 50%, there is a delay of at least 3 to 5 seconds.... isn't normal.

And i think it's not just delay. I felt like needed time to load the liquify once I ran it.
So, What I suggest is this. Something seems to be wrong with the code that loads the image when you run LiquiPi. I think it's better to focus on this part and fix the bug.

It's the same when there's only one layer, not dozens of layers. That's what happens with all the files of a typical size, and it's not just me, it's the people I know, and it's going through a lot of people in communities like Reddit.

Same issues here. For example, for a treouch I'm doing on some images now, I create a new blank layer, then hit "V" (move tool), then "3" to set opacity to 30%, then "B" to switch to the move tool. after hitting the B key I have to wait several seconds before the tool switches. Or if I need to use the hand tool to reposition or +/- to zoom, I have to wait several seconds for Photoshop to catch up. Previous version (which I just re-instaled) I can go from step step all teh way through with no delays. Very bad when you're editing 60+ images.

I wasn't satisfied with Adobe's monthly subscription service, so I spent a 2000$ to get a better computer, but the results were the same.

Most work in 15 to 20 layers. (Sometimes more is needed. Because I have to leave the process to edit it at any time when client requests a change something)

But I don't know when. It doesn't apply heavy filters to cpu or graphic cards, but simply using hand tools on the canvas to move the screen, or even small-sized brushes or clone stamping (from when there are more than 5 layers)

(There are times when the delay goes from 0.5 seconds to 10 seconds. If I have to wait 10 seconds for every task, how much more time do I have to spend working on my entire picture? If you actually have 20 minutes to work on, I think that's also 20 minutes if you add up the remaining 10 seconds of delay.)

Okay. I and you know about this. 16bit workflow need more ram, more hdd or ssd storage becausre really hard work.

But Until a few years ago, there was no delay in my work even if there were more than 50 layers instead of 5layer. =(

These are the ones I've tried.

1. reset all setting prefs, reinstall photoshop

2. reinstall windows manytimes

3. reinstall other gpu driver

4. test other device(shch as intel cpu setup, mac mini , mac pro, imac)

5. no plug in, no extension

6. dont need our log. because System logs are meaningless because they have been newly installed and tested on various types of computers.

Everything had the same result. It's slow. Specifications are good enough and there's no reason to be slow. Because it wasn't slow before. Then this isn't my fault. Something went wrong with Photoshop being updated.

My job is to use Photoshop, and I pay Adobe every month to use Photoshop, a means accordingly. Adobe offers many functions and conveniences and feels grateful for them. But most Retoucher like me don't need that kind of convenience. Rather, we need to improve our working environment. It's not exactly an improvement, it's a return to its original speed.

I want to get a reasonable result on what I paid. Thank you.

And photoshop 2015.5 is a really good environment and an example of an update, but 2018 (19.1.6) is also a good example if you can't go back to that pace.

The Two version(ps21.0.3 or 19.1.6) is very stable and faster than Compared to all the versions up to now(23.3.1)

liquify zoom lag bug, layer toggle visibility lag, zoom and hand tool lag, Just all the thing delay slow in 16bit workflow, also If there are more than 20 layers, it's lagging

There are many differences even in a typical environment that is not heavy. Based on my suggestion, please improve the working environment compared to the previous code.
